WARNING! I will be talking about parts of The Great Gatsby so if you have not started reading it yet , you may want to hold off on reading this post.
I am still in the beginning of the book, and I have to give Tom a stern tisk tisk. I find it extremely odd that he wants Nick to meet his mistress. Tom knows that Nick and his wife, Daisy are friends so I find it odd that he would want to make things more complicated for everyone by getting Nick, a family friend, somewhat involved. I do not remember if there is a reason for what went wrong with their relationship mentioned, so I am curious to keep reading to try and find out. They seem to have a pretty good life, so I find that it would be odd that Tom just get up and leave Daisy. I have to keep reading to try and find out what went wrong!
The title to your post caught my eye immediately, and I knew what you were going to say! I too am amazed that Tom would be so brazen to flaunt his mistress in front of his wife's cousin. How rude!
